About Inter-Bau Foundation (IF)

Inter-Bau Foundation (IF) is a registered non-profit organization in Nigeria. It was established with a grant from Inter-Bau Construction Limited (IBCL), to specifically address the skills and expertise gap in the construction sector.

IBCL is one of Nigeria’s pioneering indigenous construction companies. Its over 35 years’ experience gives it first-hand and practical insights into the challenges of the Nigerian construction sector that hinders the emergence of qualified, competent and experienced individuals to meet the country’s infrastructural needs.

IBCL’s major areas of specialization include Civil/Highway construction and engineering works, Building construction, Bridges and Allied structures, Flood and Erosion control works, Architectural/Structural design and Consultancy.

Why Inter-Bau Foundation (IF)

Inter-Bau Foundation was established to mitigate the high unemployment rate among young Men and women in Nigeria by creating pathways for them to build professional and lucrative careers in the country’s construction industry.

The Foundation will use modern innovation and technology to train skilled artisans and entrepreneurs that will meet the high man-power demands of the sector.

Objectives of Inter-Bau Foundation (IF)

1)  Train & equip a critical mass of Nigerian youths with practical skills for the construction sector.

2)  Mitigate the high youth unemployment rate in Nigeria by creating jobs in the construction industry.

3)  Provide mentoring and leadership development opportunities for young people to build careers in the construction sector.

4)  Support the engendering of Nigeria’s construction industry by building the capacities of women and girls.

The Foundation’s link to Inter-Bau Construction Limited uniquely positions it to provide employment for graduates of its programmes and to serve as a pipeline to other construction companies, organizations and users of construction artisans in the country.

The Foundation has four (4) major programme areas:

  • Skills Development in the Construction Industry for women and youths – Project Train Ten Thousand Artisans (PTTA)
  • Youth Entrepreneurship Project (YEP)
  • Mentoring and Leadership Development – IF Fem-Construct Mentoring Programme
  • Training Women for the Construction Industry – Pink Construction Initiative (PCI)

Sir Nath Okechukwu


Sir Nath Okechukwu is the Founder/Patron of Inter-Bau Foundation. He is also the Chairman/CEO of Inter-Bau Construction Ltd. He is an experienced, renowned entrepreneur and philanthropist and has been a key player in the construction industry for over three decades.
Lady Ann Okechukwu


Lady Ann Okechukwu is the Co-Founder of Inter-Bau Foundation. She is also an Executive Director of Inter-Bau Construction Limited. An Astute Entrepreneur and Philanthropist.
