The event held on July 7, 2021 at 247 Thomas Grandeur Event Place, Ikotun, Lagos State. The event hosted 20 private schools. The event lasted approximately two hours thirty minutes. Each student was given a Gender Mainstreaming jotter, a branded Inter-Bau/GIZ pen and 191 Careers in Construction pamphlet. The school counselors were not left out as they were participants of the ‘Train the Trainees’ session led by the counselor, where they were upskilled with new techniques in counselling and they were also given books to back up their knowledge titled Career Guidance Book for Counselors, Careers in Construction and 191 Careers in Construction pamphlets.
QUESTIONS ASKED BY THE STUDENTS
Q1: Is it possible as a science student, to choose a construction course in the university irrespective of being in science class?
A1: Being a science student does not mean you cannot thrive in any construction option of your choice. You can have passion in construction and still excel as a science student and as long as you are getting good grades in school, your parents should not have any problem with you following your passion.
Q2: Is there any profession a woman cannot do?
A2: No, there is not.
Q3: Is it possible to have passion for something and not be qualified?
A3: Yes. In cases like this, you have to learn skills to be able to qualify professionally for your passion.
Q4: Can I do two construction jobs at the same time?
A4: Yes, you can. Some people learn architecture and mechanical engineering at the same time.
